FanDuel Moves into Pennsylvania after New Jersey Success

FanDuel is launching an app in Pennsylvania following the successful launch of its casino app in New Jersey. In the Garden State, FanDuel initially had a casino app with Betfair and then decided to integrate it with their sportsbook app. In contrast, the operator decided to launch its new casino application in a different order.

In Pennsylvania, FanDuel launched its mobile sportsbook in July 2019 through its agreement with Valley Forge Casino and Boyd Gaming. The online casino website went live in January 2020, which was followed by the introduction of the stand-along casino app five months later.

The General manager of FanDuel Casino, Jesse Chemtob, stated that because of the success of their casino site from existing sportsbook customers in PA, it was a natural next step to launch a fully functioning iGaming app. She expects the app to continue to grow and develop in Pennsylvania, with more games added to the portfolio along the way.

FanDuel Online Casino Games Library

The FanDuel casino app is integrated with their sportsbook and offers over 21 slot games and six table games. Blackjack is among the most popular games as customers feel comfortable playing it online. There are also several roulette games to enjoy on the go.

The app was launched with the same number of games as the casino site, but Chemtob revealed more titles would be added. It is the aim of FanDuel for the casino app to be a popular product in its own right and slowly come away from the sportsbook offering. Chemtob went on to say as more suppliers enter the market, the games library will naturally be expanded.

Pennsylvania Welcomes Another gambling Option

Online casinos were introduced to Pennsylvania in July 2019, around two years after Gov. Tom Wolf signed a bill that allowed for the expansion of legal gambling websites in the state. FanDuel seized on this opportunity and was one of the first operators to go live.

The casino app launched during uncertain times in the gambling industry because of the Coronavirus pandemic. All major US sports were forced to postpone their seasons as the pandemic took hold in March. This led to major operators such as FanDuel and DraftKings Casino to turn to other avenues to make up any potential revenue shortfall.
